25/08 Wednesday 11h10 - My Prize

I just received the book I won by subscribing to the free online digital magazine Crush!
The book is titled The People's Guide - navigate the winelands in a shopping trolley written by Michael Olivier & Neil Pendock - he even signed it for me!

Oh how I love getting presents!

25/08 Wednesday 08h00 - Breakfast

Every morning for breakfast I make myself a banana and peanut butter smoothie - I highly recommend it - good start to the day!

Just throw in a banana, a tbsp of peanut butter, two ice cubes and some milk. Turn your smoothie machine on and ta-da, delicious breakfast in a cup (this morning I added strawberries, was yummy!)

My sister and me

My mom recently gave me some of our old family photos. When I first looked at them they made me want to cry - time goes by so fast and lives change so much. But now when I look at them they make me happy, they're beautiful and my mom and dad and sister are beautiful (wish my mom still had all her funky glasses and dresses)!

24/08 Tuesday 07h30 - Running

EEEEKKKK! I agreed to run a 10km race around the Zoo with my friend Andrea!

Just the other day I was telling anyone who would listen how unnatural running is... walking I get - but running!!??

Anyway, I said yes so now I'm going to be a super nerd and Google everything I can about running. I WILL DO THIS RACE!

23/08 Monday 09h00 - Shoot Day

Today was another busy shoot day. Had to give my headless pregnant mannequin a lift to the shoot this morning - made for an interesting drive...

21/08 Saturday 12h00 - Croc City

After Ethan's soccer match we headed off to Croc City just past Fourways. Was quite a small place and wouldn't really recommend it to anyone... but it was fun.

I'm terrified of snakes and when offered to hold this Ball Python I politely declined but the man didn't seem to like no for an answer an practically thrust his snake into my hands. Wasn't so bad.

The man then proceeded to plonk a bearded dragon on my son's head. Nice. (The bearded dragon's are actually so adorable... thinking of getting one for Christmas)

The highlight of my day must have been the croc feeding. I had just ordered myself a toasted chicken mayo when they began to throw dead rotting baby chickens to the crocodiles, needless to say, the sandwich didn't go down too well...

20/08 Friday 14h00 - Teachers strikes

When I fetched Ethan today from school he told me that he needs to go to school on Monday in civvies clothes instead of school uniform as they don't want any strikers to see that they are going to school.

Crazy!!!!

20/08 Friday 08h50 - Sick

 Feeling horrible - stupid bugs!

Spring is in the air

This little package just arrived on my desk. The spring colours are really pretty but not too sure who could pull off that green!

Who would you be?

If you could be any man or woman for the day, who would it be?

I would be Angelina Jolie, without the kids!

Vida Coffee

Vida Cappuccino and Lindt chocolate for breakfast - thanks Andrea... sorry Jen...

I'm stuck with this Plecostomus

Ethan and I have a fish tank with only one fish in it. We have tried putting more fish in it but they all get eaten by this monster fish. It's called a Plecostomus (just looked it up - what would we do without google).

Anyway it feels like we have had this thing forever! As I've said before, I'm not much of a pet person and I'm getting a little tired of having to clean this things tank (not fun getting fishy poo water in your mouth!) so I decided to google the life expectancy of this fish. It appears I may be stuck with this thing for a very long time - it can live anywhere from 10 to 20 years!!!!!

PS. The only cool thing about this fish is the fright it gives my friends when they come over - he's a scary looking beast

My talking plant

People say you should first get a plant, if you can keep that alive then move on to a pet, if that too survives then and only then are you ready for a baby.

I have NEVER been able to keep a plant alive - EXCEPT for this one!

I have no idea what it's called but it talks to me. Yes, it talks to me - lets me know when it's thirsty and about to die. The flowers start to bend and droop over, I give it water and a little while later they're standing straight up again - it's simply amazing. I love it!

Ethan's first trip to the sea

Jared and Ethan (on the right). When he was small you couldn't take one photo without him pulling a fist and showing his muscle!

I got my hands on some OLD photographs that had been sitting undeveloped for years. So much fun to come across long forgotten memories. I miss my little boys curls...

18/08 Wednesday 08h00

The other day I went through Dave's cupboard and nicked this pullover vest... I think it suites me better and I should get to keep it. Thought I'd do a WHO WEARS IT BETTER? to prove my point!

17/08 Tuesday 09h00

One of our beautiful models

Our photographer, Neil, trying to make the model feel more relaxed

Neil the shmodel

Our stylist, Joanita

Was busy the whole day on a shoot. It's quiet a job trying to dress a pregnant dummy - she stood on my foot (she's a heavy one) and then I kept grabbing her in inappropriate places which made me blush!
