18.09.2011 - 17h00 - Park fun
Friday and Saturday were total write offs for me. Friday I came into work but felt sick so left early. Saturday after Ethan's friend Bjorn went home I passed out on the couch whilst Ethan played playstation. I realised this couldn't be too much fun for him so shipped him off to his cousins to play. I didn't see him again until late Sunday afternoon. I obviously didn't realise just how boring I was (he didn't want to come home :) Anyway, I felt much better Sunday and decided to try and make up for my laziness on the weekend with some park fun. I totally blew them away with my backwards somersault off the jungle gym!
15.09.2011 - 12h06 - Happy Birthday Jenny ♥
I don’t do poems these days
Cos I never got any praise
But for you I’ll use my brain
There might be something to gain
Maybe you’ll give me a raise
Or shower me with praise
But if you give me a bad review
I will still land up loving you
Why you might ask?
Because I have a hidden hip flask
Booze makes everything groovy
Just like in that weird movie
Ok wait. I’m going off track
Let me rather go back
To telling you how great you are
You have been my best boss so far
You listen and give advice
Which is true and concise
You‘re the big sister I never had
Which is so totally rad
Thank you for being you
Go ahead and learn Zulu
You’ll be even cooler
And the guys will a drooler
Cos I never got any praise
But for you I’ll use my brain
There might be something to gain
Maybe you’ll give me a raise
Or shower me with praise
But if you give me a bad review
I will still land up loving you

14.09.2011 - 08h21 - Denim Skirt
The other day I found this denim skirt at Mr price for R39!!! I absolutely love it because it's tight. Usually my skinny legs look even skinnier in skirts because they are always too big and puffy.
However, I think my son thinks it's too tight. Well I think he does... he's too sweet to actually say it but he did make me stand a little way away so he could inspect me. He got a nervous look on his face and said "it looks like they took the denim and just wrapped it tightly around you"... think we're getting to that stage where my clothes could embarrass him! Maybe I should revert back to high school days and wear a tracksuit over my clothes until I've dropped him off at school, then only do I reveal my too tight clothes?
12.09.2011 - 07h31 - My weekend
Friday night: Stayed at home... alone... for the 2nd night in a row! First night is an exciting treat... 2nd night is depressing! Vowed to myself that from now on I will be crazy party girl every opportunity I get (bahahahaha)...
Saturday: Fetched my mom and we headed over to Hyde Park to watch a chick flick. We saw Crazy stupid love which was cute. I then went over to Karens place. We landed up in Parkhurts restaurant / bar hopping down the street. We landed up at the Ol' Jolly. Went to bar - bought a drink - walked 2 meters and got picked up by a table of really old men. What a shock.
We have decided that from now on if we find ourselves at the Jolly we will head directly to this sign... and everytime someone tries to pick us up we will not make eye contact with them and simple point to this sign :)
Sunday morning: Got woken up with 3 sms's that could only come from a yogi insisting on what a beautiful day it is (arrgghhh ;)... started watching rugby at home while yogi did yoga then met Karen around 11 at her place to carry on watching the rugby. Was very amusing. Two girls eating veggie bugers (they were delicious), drinking beer shandy's whilst screaming at the TV. Well, Karen screams, I just make high-pitched noises. Karen's funniest moment: Bunch of grunting men in a scrum - Karen shouts - "Just stick your finger up his bum! It's the only way to break up a dog fight!" hahahahahahahaha, I love you Karen.
Sunday afternoon: After rugby we went to Greenside to watch her friend Christine Roberts play with her band (The Runaway Train Cult) at Tokyo Star. It was the perfect end to a wonderfully unplanned, relaxing weekend. Thank you to EVERYONE who made me smile this weekend xoox

09.09.2011 - 09h47 - Gareth Cliff
Last night I had a dream that Gareth said he'd seen my blog. I got all excited... until he said that he though it was trash. Not cool.
07.09.2011 - 15h37 - Fashion Wall
What do you do just after a deadline when there isn't much work and you need down time and inspiration? You build a Your Pregnancy fashion wall...
07.09.2011 - 13h24 - Go Bokke
Am sure the schools are in cahoots with the people who makes these clothes... Ethan now has an expensive soccer top, cricket top and rugby shirt! This baby cost me R200 - for 4 Friday's worth of wear - that's R50 a day. I would make him wear it from morning to night everyday for the next month... if I didn't hate sports clothes so much!
PS. Almost, almost, almost bought him a plain green t-shirt for R39 bucks instead... but just couldn't do that to him
07.09.2011 - 06h45 - Photographer in the making
Ethan took more pics on the way to school this morning. He asked me to PLEASE put them up on my blog so people can see his photographic skills and give him a job :)
06.09.2011 - 19h00 - Dinner
I know it doesn't look like much but it was really delicious... it was sweet potato mash, whole garlic button mushrooms with an onion gravy. YUM
05.09.2011 - 17h30 - Starting over again
I haven't done my running program in 2 or 3 weeks so have decided to start it from the beginning again. I now find running 1 minute a breeze! That goopy mess is a banana dipped in peanut butter - h.e.l.l.o!
05.09.2011 - 10h16 - YP Oct / Nov mag
Just sent the October / November issue off to print. This issue has a fashion & beauty dossier which was crazy hectic to put together (think I've aged 10 years and am in dire need of a neck and shoulder massage!!) but I think it looks really pretty!
04.09.2011 - 16h00 - Found the end of the Rainbow
Yesterday, Ethan and I spotted this beautiful rainbow sitting in the middle of our lounge floor. We figured if we stood in it maybe it would bring us pots of gold and good luck!?
02.09.2011 - Friday - Idols Final 6
Guinevere Davies, from Heat magazine was kind enough to organize two media tickets for Ethan and I... so off to Idols we went...again.
The show was amazing!! Ethan couldn't do anything but stare open mouthed at the lights and fire displays and falling disco balls - too much awesomeness for one 10 year old!
I took videos (not sure if that's allowed) - these are my two favorites (just put a small clip up so you can get a feel for their awesomeness!) LOVED Freddy doing the White Stripes - AMAZING. And LOVED the way Dave danced around to Elvis. Thanks again Guin! xoox
01.09.2011 - 17h30 - Rugby
After work - around 5.30 - Ethan and I took a stroll up to Sandton Square to see what was happening. When we arrived we saw we couldn't get into the square as all the doors were locked (think you needed tickets) so we went and pigged out at Sandton food court instead. (On the way there we saw Randall from Idols - this is now the 3rd time I've seen him in a week - think I'm meant to have his babies or something?!)
Anyway, on the way back through the square we saw they'd opened one of the doors so we snuck in... this is all we saw. Blah
01.09.2011 - 06h30 - A happy Spring morning
What a great day! I LOVE SPRING!! Ethan had to dress up as his favorite book character today for school so we played around a bit with his costume this morning...
Then Ethan got a hold of my camera and took millions of pics on the way to school... there's pics of cars, road signs, my license disc, trees... so just chose a couple I thought were really nice (cos I'm fussy like that)
