The plan was that Andrea and I would go to gym and I'd try a Pilates class for the very first time. Discovered I'd left my gym bag at home. Raided work cupboards... found purple gym top and bright orange towel. I LOVE our work cupboard - it's like Mary Poppins bag... filled with everything you need :)

I'm so very proud of myself this morning. I didn't bring any food to work today (bad!) so when my stomach began to grumble just now instead of... grabbing my wallet. running down the stairs. putting R7.50 into the vending machine. scoffing down a chocolate.... I... grabbed my wallet. ran down the stairs. went to the canteen. bought a pear and banana for R5. ate it as slowly as possible (at least 10 chews per bite... which for a juicy pear is a lot of chews! - yes I've been reading nutrition/health sites all morning)

WOW. Healthier and cheaper. Yay me!

16.03.2011 - 07h00 - School Tour

Ethan has been counting the days for this school tour... think he's going to have an amazing time (even though he's been to most of the places they're going to - which makes me feel cool cos it means we do actually do a lot of things together)!

The coolest thing we managed to sneak into his bag? A juice bottle filled with condensed milk... I used to think the stuff was gross... then I HAD to lick the spoon last night and now think I've been mad for the last 31 years and have just recently woken up sane.. that stuff is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

14.03.2011 - 16h00 - The Fringe

I had to go to Benmore to do some last minute shopping for Ethans first school tour (exciting!)... I've been trying to grown my fringe as per my hairdressers instructions BUT I JUST COULDN'T TAKE IT ANY LONGER!!! Now, usually I would decided this late at night and get out my blunt pair of kitchen scissors and chop it off myself but this time I went into a hair salon at Benmore and paid someone R50 to do it for me... very proud of myself... looks like Debbie's finally growing up!

13.03.2011 - Soccer

Saturday I went to a birthday party... I was in such a rush and forgot to take my camera :(

Sunday was Ethan's first soccer tournament for the year. It was at TUKS... such a nice place. Ethan has decided he definately wants to go to University... like he had a choice bahaha!?

...feeling so much better now... finally caved and ate a chocolate (it's been 2 and a half days!)... and I got to see Warren (haven't seen him in over 3 years!!) thanks for the Vida my friend, it was so good to see you again :)

1. Make me go to Ethan's school to buy yet another pair of school shorts from the 2nd hand store... don't open your shop thus forcing me to buy a brand new pair for R120! Not cool.

I get to work around 7am every morning (except for Friday's)... This morning Andrea got to work early too so we got to go and have a Vida breakfast break. Nice. Wish I was rich enough to do this every morning! *hint, hint to rich, handsome, funny, lovely man just waiting to sweep me off my feet*

08.03.2011 - Busy evening

I knew I had a lot to do this fine Tuesday evening... so I wrote it all down on a post-it note... I was then afraid I would forget about the post-it so stuck the note to my cars dashboard... This is how my evening went...

Fetch Ethan from school. Get to the car. He realizes that he's left his school sports bag somewhere in the school. Runs off to find it. Can't find it. We now have no uniform for school tomorrow (we now only own 1 pair of school shorts as he has lost the others...). Have sad boy on my hands.

Drive to Pick 'n Pay to return the 100th school bag I have bought and Ethan hasn't liked. Bump into my dad. Have quick catch-up. Find something sticky and unhealthy to cheer sad son up (bad mom!). Draw too much money from my credit card to pay for soccer club. Cringe when slip comes out machine... crumple it up and throw it away without looking at the balance. Would rather not know right now.

Drop make-up off at my parents house (should have given it to my dad when I bumped into him. Duh!)

Yes. That's Ethan's spelling words in my laundry amongst the underwear. That's how I roll.

Get home and start unpacking bags so Ethan can get straight to learning for his spellathon. Get load of washing going... whilst testing son.

Start dinner... whilst testing son. Eat dinner. Wax eyebrows and other hairy face bits (nice). Straighten hair (going to exercise tomorrow so kind of seems pointless but hey I'm a girl, it's what we do). Plop in front of TV. Cuddle son. Put son to bed. Crawl into bed. Read some Eat. Pray. Love. Pass out.

And that my dear friends is my incredibly glamorous life in a nutshell really...and given the choice... I don't think I'd change it...

08.03.2011 - 13h12 - Rooibos Cappuccino

Charlie just handed me a box of Laager Rooibos Cappuccino. I made a cup and left to stand on my desk for over 10 minutes... am afraid to try it.

Verdict: Not sure. It's confusing my tastebuds. My brain sees the foam and expects to get a mouth full of creamy coffee but instead tastes a strong (creamy??) rooibos tea. Odd. Very odd. But I never say no to freebies so will no doubt finish the box. Thanks Charlie.

Trying to figure out how many glasses of water fit into this bottle (without actually filling it up using a glass). Charlie here reckons it's only 2! Which would mean I have to drink 3 or 4 of these bottles EVERYDAY! Eish

Went to Sandton and bought Ethan this snood. It's so cool... think I'm going to get myself one too (can't have my son looking more stylish then me!)

I am 32 this year and I have NEVER registered to vote for anything... terrible I know (probably shouldn't even be admitting that) BUT I finally got off my lazy ass and did it and I drove off feeling happy and all grown up. Nice.

05.03.2011 - Big Bad Brightwater Commons

Took the kids to Brightwater. Bought Sarah a new dress from Mr P. She loved it. Was very cute!

The kids wanted to see Big Momma - I REALLY didn't want to. Was even considering letting them watch it alone but thought better of it, being Brightwater and all. So reluctanly went in with the biggest popcorn I could buy. AND? It wasn't actually THAT bad...!

This man has the coolest little show with his puppets. Makes them dance to irritating Shakira music but it's amazing to watch...

Went to night cricket at Ethan's school. I couldn't rope anyone in to coming with me so took my camping chair and book along for a night of reading while the kids ran wild. In all the years I've been going to night cricket I have not once say and watched a game...bad!

The kids all bought spur ribs burgers... I decided I'd get one as well. I was standing in the line waiting to order and I just started to notice how many really overweight kids were standing in the line with me. I wasn't trying to be mean... overweight adults I can do... but overweight kids upset me a lot. So I lost my appetite and gave the burger a miss. Very sad to see.

Well... I said I was tired and not in the mood to walk round and round... so I ate slap chips and drank Savanah's instead whilst chatting to the lovely Andrea and drooling over the delicious parkour men. YUM! I also got an unusual yet lovely compliment from an old man drinking there... he said I'm classy!!?? Nice

PS. Camera's battery dies so took pics with BB - thus the bad quality (couldn't zoom in on the parkour guys... damn!)

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired. It's been a very busy day which I LOVE but it would be nice if I could go home now. Instead Ethan and I are off to soccer. I REALLY want to sit in the car and nap while he plays but I ATE SO MUCH JUNK yesterday... so I should walk... aarrrggghhh... zzzzzzzzzz

01.03.2011 - Fat! Fat! Everywhere!

Jen arrived back in the office with some fudgination to get us through the pagination... not knowing we'd already consumed chocolate... well I have anyway. Charlene puts it all in a draw. Why? How? I wish I had that kind of willpower! You give it to me it goes straight into my open, salivating mouth.

I've decided I'm not having a bf for 2011 so who cares! Bring it on!
